The aim of the International Association for Neo-Latin Studies (IANLS) is to advance the study of Latin texts written from the time of Petrarch (1304–1374) until the present day in the widest sense by:
(a) making accessible to all its members information of common interest concerning the teaching of and research in the field of Neo-Latin studies in colleges and universities, research institutes and other centres of learning;
(b) organizing an international congress every three years;
(c) promoting the teaching of Neo-Latin at all appropriate levels of education;
(d) encouraging, wherever possible, the publication of research in Neo-Latin and in related fields; and
(e) developing collaborations with other national and international organizations devoted to the study of Latin literature across the centuries, the heritage of Classical antiquity, or any field within the humanities, in which Latin texts and the Classical tradition are relevant.
